There are two things we love more than anything around here, an inbox with pictures of our brides and awesome wedding blogs. So when these o worlds collided, it was pretty much the best day of our lives. Ok, maybe that’s a stretch, but let’s just say, we were very excited.
Caitlin, event planner and owner/ blogger ofTulle Wedding Skirts was gracious enough to send in some pictures of her lovely bridal party wearing their, as she says, “ridiculously soft and gorgeous robes” from Love Ophelia in coco and ivory.
We fell in love.
We wanted more.
Like all the fun details of how she met her adorable husband Paulie.
And more pictures from her gorgeous wedding (yup, that’s a Moscow Mule).
We are so thrilled to offer a peek into the wedding of our favorite new blogger! In her own words, we give you, Caitlin:
Tell us about your hubby?
My husband’s name is Paulie and we first met in college – at the University of Richmond – but didn’t start dating until years later. We were both living in NYC post-college and had close mutual friends so we ended up hanging out in the same circle of friends from time to time. In April of 2009, I guess you could say we were both just in the same place – Both single and had been living in the city for a few years at this point and looking for something more serious…after he invited me over for dinner – his homemade red sauce over ravioli – I think it’s safe to say the rest was history.
Where did you get married?
We got married at St. George’s-by-the-River in Rumson, NJ on September 7, 2013 – The reception was at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank, NJ, where I grew up. The church was the same one my parents got married in. Our reception was just as I imagined it – a delicious sit down dinner and non-stop dance
party with a killer band. I seriously didn’t stop dancing the whole night – I switched out my 4 inch Jimmy Choos for crochet lace TOMs mid-night. We ended the night with some late-night snacks for our guests – pizza bagels, pigs in a blanket and french fries!
What inspired you to start your blog?
I’ve been working in events since college – for a few different non-profits doing fundraising, as well as corporate meeting and conference planning for the publishing industry. I was actually laid off in November (blessing in disguise) which led me to bite the bullet and start the blog. I’ve always wanted to do wedding planning and with my events background and having just planned my own wedding, the time felt right! I hope to use the blog as a stepping-stone for my career – and I’m having a blast so far writing it! Really excited for what’s to come!
